This role involves providing high-level guidance and strategy advice to large public and private sector clients.

My role includes development of Digital Strategies, Enterprise Architect support to large programmes and input to large transformation bids.

I am also involved in the design and delivery of technology pilots for data analytics plaforms, AI agents and Cloud-native solutions.

• Enterprise Architecture: Advice and guidance to large transformation programmes.
• Consultancy Advice: Enterprise Architecture support to public and private section clients.
• Digital Strategy: Development and delivery of Digital Strategies for clients.

In this role, I was responsible for leading and managing a team of eight architects specializing in low code, automation, AI and Data. My responsibilities included management of team performance, allocation and chargeability of the team and running architecture governance for the team.

I also sat on several technology governance forums, such as the Capita Data Working Group, Technology Resourcing Team and Complex Project Delivery Group. I also provided support and input to critical project interventions for identification and delivery of remediation activities.

In addition to team management and governance, I was also directly involved in the design and delivery of technology programs for internal and external clients. This has included:

• Enterprise Architecture Leadership: Leadership of multi-disciplinary team of (8) Solution Architects covering Low Code (Power Platform), Automation, AI, Salesforce, Data and traditional architecture. This includes development of the team, managing resource allocation, monitoring and managing productivity of the team, performance management and pastoral care.
• AI & Automation Opportunities Identification and prioritization: Looking for opportunities across the business to exploit the use of AI and Automation to improve the efficiency of business processes.
• Architecture Strategy: Development and delivery of Architecture strategy across data, AI, automation and low code, including development of an Architecture Playbook.
• Data Architect: Design and development of a Power Platform solution for overseas educational grant management. This was an intervention, due to a supplier failure, requiring a new solution to be designed and delivered within a short (8 week) timeframe. This included analysis of existing data, development of a new data architecture, design and delivery of the Power Platform architecture, data cleansing and migration into the new platform and development of the new application. This was successfully delivered, allowing the contract to be delivered on time.
• Solution and Data Architect: Design and development of a Dataverse for Teams Data Governance application for Capita. This involved design of the data architecture, design of the application and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and supporting developers in delivering the solution.
• Data Architect: Data analysis, architecture, cleansing and migration of critical public sector case and incident management solution, based on Microsoft Dynamics 365. The role included data quality analysis of source data and working with legacy suppliers on fixes, design of the target data architect and design of the data migration solution.
• Data Architect: Oversight of data architecture delivery across key public sector programs.
• Coaching and Mentoring: I have coached several junior architects and developers to help them understand their options and develop their careers as architects.

In this role, I was responsible for leading the Enterprise Architecture function for a 2,000-person division of Capita. My responsibilities included development and delivery of the technology strategy for the division, architecture governance and oversight of all technology delivery across the division.

I also sat on several technology governance forums, such as the Capita Technology Board, the Divisional Leadership Team and the Complex Project Delivery Group. I also provided support and input to critical project interventions for identification and delivery of remediation activities.

In addition to team management and governance, I was also directly involved in the design and delivery of technology programs for internal and external clients. This has included:

• Enterprise Architecture Leadership: Leadership of a team of (4) Solution Architects covering Cloud (Azure), Data, Security and traditional architecture. This includes development of the team, managing resource allocation, monitoring and managing productivity of the team, performance management and pastoral care.
• Technology Strategy: Development and delivery of Technology strategy across the division, including development of a Technology Playbook.
• Cloud Architecture: Design and delivery of multiple Azure-based solutions across public sector clients, including data analytics solutions, web applications and infrastructure solutions.
• Data Architecture: Design and delivery of data architecture for multiple public sector clients, including data models, data migration strategies and data governance frameworks.
• Security Architecture: Design and delivery of security architecture for multiple public sector clients, including identity and access management solutions, network security solutions and application security solutions.
• Solution Architecture: Design and delivery of multiple end-to-end solutions across public sector clients, including CRM solutions, ERP solutions and bespoke application solutions.
• Coaching and Mentoring: I have coached several junior architects and developers to help them understand their options and develop their careers as architects.

Standardised technology delivery across a 2,000-person division, developed software technology strategy and implemented architecture governance.

During my career in PwC, I went through many roles as my knowledge, experience and career progressed. My initial roles were focused on project management of large technology projects across the public sector in UK and Ireland. As I progressed, I developed my security technology knowledge and became a CESG Listed Advisor Scheme (CLAS) consultant, working on large public sector programmes. As my skills and experience developed further, I focused on Enterprise and Data Architecture, working with global clients in the airline, drinks manufacturing and food manufacturing industries.

Some key achievement and projects during my time with PwC included:

• UK Data Architecture Champion: UK Lead for Technology Data Architecture within Technology Consultancy division.
• Global Methodology Development: Development of data components and processes of PwC's global delivery methodology, “Transform”.
• Solution and Data Architect: Development of data architecture and enterprise solutions for several clients including a global bank, pharma, retail, and central government.
• Enterprise Architect: Design, development and delivery of Enterprise Architecture function within large public sector transport client and global bank.
• Security: Running the Security and Controls team for critical payments system programme in large public sector client. This solution was designed to make £120bn of payments per year with 5m+ transactions per day. Also design of the security accreditation process for a large, central governance client.
• Design Authority: Running Design Authority and Technology Assurance across several major transformation programmes.
